Mandes Kates, PhD, MDDr. Kates, a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, is a graduate of Princeton University and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He spent his internship year at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, followed by his Ophthalmology residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. He took further training in the field of Oculoplastic surgery during his fellowship at Columbia University, after which he became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has served on the faculty of New York Medical College.

Currently, Dr. Kates is on the staff of Orange Regional Medical Center and St. Anthony Community Hospital.

He is a member of the following organizations:

The American Medical Association
The American Academy of Ophthalmology
The Medical Society of the State of New York
New York State Ophthalmological Society
Orange County Medical Society.

He also serves in a volunteer capacity as a member of the Warwick Lions Club and on the Board of Directors of the Association for the Visually Impaired.
